Your First Visit

Your first visit is a conversation and a careful assessment before it is a treatment appointment.

Knowing what happens next can take much of the uncertainty out of a new dental visit. Dr. Yiyang Zou, DMD begins by listening, then examines your current oral health and explains the findings in practical language.

You can submit an appointment request at any time, and our team will confirm availability and timing before a visit is placed on the schedule.

What to Expect

01

Start With Your Story

We review your health history, medications, dental experiences, current concerns, and what you want help with. Tell us about pain, anxiety, accessibility needs, or anything else that could shape your visit.

02

Complete the Examination

Dr. Zou examines your teeth, gums, bite, and oral tissues. X-rays are selected when they are clinically useful, based on your symptoms, risk, examination, and any recent images available from another dentist.

03

Agree on the Next Step

You receive a plain-language explanation of the findings and options. A routine cleaning may be possible at the first visit, or a different type of care may be scheduled when the examination identifies another need.

Before You Arrive

  • Complete the new-client form and provide a current medication list.
  • Ask your previous dentist to send recent, useful X-rays when available.
  • Bring insurance information if you want help reviewing available benefits.
  • Tell us before the visit about pain, swelling, anxiety, or accessibility needs.
  • Write down the questions you want Dr. Zou to answer.
